After the interview: feedback, results, and what comes next
What happens between you closing the tab and hearing back from the recruiter — and how to read the post-interview feedback form correctly.
Key takeaways
- After the interview, you'll see a short feedback form. It is anonymous and goes to NextMantra, not the hiring company.
- You will not see your AI score. That is private to the recruiter.
- Typical turnaround from recruiter is 1–5 business days.
- If you do not hear back within 10 business days, it is fine to follow up by email.
Before you start
Your interview just ended. The AI said goodbye, you closed (or are about to close) the tab. What happens next?
The feedback form
Right after the interview ends, you see a short feedback form on screen. It is usually three or four questions — How was the experience? Was the audio clear? Did the AI understand your answers? — plus a free-text comment box.
This feedback is for NextMantra, not for the hiring company. It is anonymous: the recruiter does not see what you wrote here. We use it to identify when the AI mis-hears people, when the screen-share step confuses candidates, when network issues are frequent at specific times of day, and so on.
Take 60 seconds to fill it in. It genuinely improves the platform.
What the recruiter sees
Once you submit the feedback (or skip it), your interview is marked complete in the platform. The recruiter at the hiring company gets a notification, usually within minutes. They then see:
The recruiter reviews this material the same way they would review a CV plus notes from a phone screen. They are the one who decides whether you move forward.
When you will hear back
Most recruiters review interviews within 1 to 5 business days. Some companies batch reviews and only do them once a week. For roles with hundreds of applicants, it may take up to two weeks. There is no platform-level guarantee — each hiring team sets their own pace.
Expect one of three outcomes by email:
What if you do not hear back at all
After about 10 business days of silence, it is appropriate to send a polite follow-up email to the recruiter who invited you. Keep it short — one or two lines — and reference the role and interview date so they can quickly find you in their system.
Sample wording:
TIP
Hi [Recruiter name], just following up on the AI interview I completed on [date] for the [role] position. Happy to discuss next steps or to provide any additional information. Thanks, [Your name]
If after another follow-up you still do not hear back, it is reasonable to assume the company has moved in another direction. There is no other party for you to escalate to — NextMantra operates the platform but does not influence hiring decisions.
Good luck
Whatever the outcome of this specific interview, you have already done the harder work — you put yourself out there. Plenty of roles will not be a fit. Some will be. Keep going.
Frequently asked questions
Will I see my AI score?
No. The AI evaluation is shown to the recruiter at the hiring company; it is not shared with candidates. We do this because the AI score is one input into the recruiter's decision, not the decision itself — sharing it tends to be misleading either way.
Can I see the transcript of what I said?
Not by default. If you want a copy of your transcript, you can request it from NextMantra at the email shown in the platform footer. We will share it after the recruiter has reviewed your interview.
What if I want to delete my recording?
You can request deletion at any time by emailing NextMantra at the email in the platform footer. We will delete the recording, the transcript, and the AI evaluation. This may affect your candidacy for the role you interviewed for (the recruiter will no longer have the AI assessment), so the hiring company may ask you to interview again through a different channel.
Is it okay to follow up with the recruiter if I don't hear back?
Yes — wait about 10 business days from your interview date, then send a short, polite email to the recruiter who invited you. A line like *"Hi <name>, just following up on the AI interview I completed on <date> for the <role> position. Happy to discuss next steps or to provide any additional information."* is fine.
